Pennhurst Asylum originally opened its doors in 1908, upon which the first patient was admitted in late November. The facility closed down in 1986 due to overcrowding, poor patient care, and declining living conditions. Within the last decade, there have been numerous claims of paranormal activity occurring at Pennhurst. These claims range from seeing children playing on broken down swing sets, full bodied apparitions, people passing by windows, hearing screams, and hearing people talking. Shore Paranormal Research Society was asked to come in and try to debunk these claims...
During Shore Paranormal Reasearch Society's numerous visits to the site including camping inside buildings, we have concluded that there is a high level of paranormal activity. The activity ranges from EVPs, shadow apparitions, and countless personal experiences.
